High-angle rescue team uses crane to reach injured worker

A construction worker was injured in a fall through a hole in the roof of a building under construction in downtown Vancouver on the morning of May 8.

The high-angle rescue team was called to a worksite on Hamilton Street to get to the worker, who fell three metres through a ventilation hole in the roof to the fifth floor below.

The Vancouver Fire Department was able to get the man down from the building using a crane that was on the jobsite.

The man, who was conscious, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
