Construction and engineering leaders Verreault and Dessau join forces

QUEBEC CITY

Dessau President and Chief Executive Officer Jean-Pierre Sauriol and the President of Verreault, Michel Verreault, announced on June 19, 2008, that they are uniting their companies to create one of Canada’s largest engineering-construction groups.

The two industry leaders are consolidating their activities in order to sustain their growth and offer a wider range of services.

Founded in 1927, over the years Verreault has become one of Quebec's largest builders. The firm currently has 150 employees in Quebec City and Montreal. It has completed numerous industrial, commercial and institutional construction projects.

Dessau, founded in 1957, is not only Quebec’s second largest and Canada’s fifth largest engineering-construction firms, it is also one of the world's 100 largest.

With the acquisition, Dessau now has over 3,500 employees and annual sales of over $600 million. The firm is active throughout Quebec and the rest of Canada, as well as a number of countries in North Africa, Central America, South America and the Caribbean.
