Thompson Rivers University receives funding for library, First Nations learning centre

Thompson Rivers University recently received provincial funding to construct a new library and First Nations learning centre at the university’s Kamloops campus.

The $29.3-million facility will contain 41,000 square feet of space for the library information and learning commons — including a lecture theatre – and 17,000 square feet for First Nations business, technology and leadership programs.

The new facility will be built to LEED Gold standards. A request for proposals from architects is expected in the summer of 2008, with completion scheduled for winter 2010.
