Alberta commits $200 million to Federal Building renovation and redevelopment

The Alberta government has committed $200 million for the renovation and redevelopment of the Federal Building in Edmonton.

Despite the building’s age, it is expected that the renewed Federal Building will exceed an environmental design rating of LEED Silver.

The design work on the building will commence as soon as consultants are hired. A request for proposal is anticipated shortly.

The first phase of the hazardous materials removal is currently underway and is scheduled to be completed by December 2008.
