International marina proposed for Victoria’s Songhees waterfront

World-class yachts may soon be mooring in the Victoria harbour.

A partnership between Western Asset Management and Marine Concepts LP has proposed to construct an international marina on Victoria’s Songhees waterfront.

Designed by Herb Kwan Architect, the $20 million proposal includes a 48-slip marina with two single-storey buildings containing a restaurant, a harbour coffee house, yacht club facilities and a yachting concierge marine management centre.

The slips will accommodate vessels from 65 to 135 feet in length, permitting high-end yachts from around the world.

The project still needs approval from Victoria authorities, so a construction schedule and general contractor have yet to be determined.
