Clark Builders wins contract to build four new Alberta schools
Edmonton-based Clark Builders has been awarded a contract by the Alberta government to build four new schools in the province. The company won the design-build high school bundle by submitting the low bid of $96,767,000 in the tender.
Stantec Architecture will work with Clark Builders on the design for the project.

The design and construction work at four high schools in Calgary, Edmonton, Sherwood Park and Spruce Grove is set to begin simultaneously.
Clark Builders is currently working with the subtrades to finalize the design and is assembling a project team.
Depending on the weather, some preliminary earthwork may be done this fall, but the real construction will start early in the spring.
The schools are scheduled for completion in 2013 and will add almost 5,000 new student spaces.
The four high schools are part of the Alberta Schools Alternative Procurement II (ASAP II) project, which also includes 10 elementary and middle schools being constructed through a public-private partnership (P3).
The successful proponent for the P3 bundle is expected to be named next spring and the schools are scheduled to open by September 2012.
All 14 ASAP II schools will be built to obtain LEED. Silver certification.
