WorleyParsons wins construction contract for Suncor Energy’s Firebag 3 plant

Suncor Energy has awarded Cord WorleyParsons Ltd. a $74.4-million contract to provide construction services on Suncor’s Firebag 3 plant in the oilsands near Fort McMurray, Alta.

The work will involve construction of the plant’s well pads and the gathering lines associated with a steam-assisted gravity drainage facility.

This contract represents the final stage of WorleyParson’s work on the Firebag project.

Completion of the job is slated for the end of 2010.

Cord WorleyParsons is the construction division of WorleyParsons Canada Ltd.
