Study supports domed stadium for Saskatchewan Roughriders in Regina

Regina might be getting a new stadium. A study commissioned by the by Saskatchewan government concludes a domed stadium in downtown Regina is feasible.

According to the study, the multi-purpose entertainment facility would cost $386.2 million, including construction, land and consultants’ fees as well as fixtures, interior furnishing and equipment.

The proposed design includes a fully retractable roof option, capacity for 33,000 spectators, and is expandable to up to 45,000 for major events and up to 53,000 for major concerts. The retractable roof would cost an additional $45 million.

During 36 months of construction, the project is estimated to create 2,587 person years of total employment.
