Record turnout for International Open Shop Construction Conference

The 6th International Open Shop Construction Conference had the best turnout in the history of the event. The event, the only in Canada for open shop contractors, was recently held in Kelowna, B.C.

More than 300 delegates attended from across Canada and the United States.

“What was different about this conference is that the participation of central and eastern Canada has been very high,” said Stephen Kushner, president of Merit Alberta.

Alberta had the most delegates with 129, which was followed by B.C. at 72 and Ontario at 35.

At the other end of the spectrum, Saskatchewan and New Brunswick each had four delegates and Newfoundland had three. There were 21 US. delegates.
