PCL Constructors Canada to build new RCMP headquarters

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. has been awarded a $59-million contract to build a new RCMP headquarters in Nova Scotia. The ‘H’ Division headquarters will be located in Burnside Business Park on property owned by the federal government.

The building will be five storeys high and about 24,000 square metres, designed to accommodate the RCMP’s administrative and operational requirements. Plans include the installation of a green roof, the use of dimming fixtures that adjust to natural light and the use of natural gas. The design will reduce water consumption. The building is expected to achieve LEED certification.
