Merit Contractors Association held an open house Feb. 9 to unveil their completely renovated facility on St. Albert Trail in Edmonton. The project involved completely gutting the existing facility and upgrading it to allow Merit to respond to the coming labour shortage in the province by renewing their focus on construction training.
Training rooms have been built for theory and practice, as well as computer rooms for online learning. The facility also houses Mercon offices.
The facility received its official opening with a ribbon cutting, Edmonton Mayor Stephen Mandel, Duncan Binder of Binder Construction, Merit Contractors Association President Stephen Kushner, and Dave Hancock, Alberta's Minister of Human Services sharing the honour.
