Vancouver Island Construction Association turns 100

Hudson's Bay store, Victoria, B.C. 1914

VICTORIA CITY ARCHIVES

Construction workers were busy with the excavation for a new Hudson's Bay Company store in Victoria B.C. in 1914.

The development was one of many on Vancouver Island over the last century and the Vancouver Island Construction Association (VICA) has been there for all of them.

VICA's 100th anniversary festivities kick off this week with an invite-only gala in Victoria.

A number of events are planned for throughout 2012.
