Red Truck's Smashing Idea
BRADLEY FEHR
Rather than using a shovel to symbolically break ground on a new facility, Red Truck Brewery decided to drop a red truck from a crane instead. Mega Cranes Ltd. was called on to perform the unusual task.
The job required a 200-ton crane and two clevises for the quick release mechanism.
The new brewery is being built in East Vancouver, B.C. and will include a fifties-style diner. Ankenman Marchand Architects did the design for the new facility.
