VIDEO: The 2012 VRCA Awards of Excellence

On October 17th, the Vancouver Regional Construction Association held its 24th annual Awards of Excellence, where the organization recognizes the best of the best construction projects from the Lower Mainland and other parts of British Columbia.

Keith Sashaw, the president of the VRCA, took time to talk to the Journal of Commerce about the awards, the importance of recognizing excellence in an audience of one’s peers, and also remarked upon the Landmark award for the roof installation and renovation of BC Place.

Andy Tallentire, the operations manager for PCL Constructors Westcoast, talked about the challenges of renovating a Vancouver icon and the logistics involved with multiple subcontractors tackling different aspects of the BC Place renovation. Dave Corcoran, the VP of major projects for Graham Design Builders also talked about their win in the General Contractor over $40 million category for the Kelowna and Vernon Hospitals P3 project.
