VIDEO: Journal of Commerce Update for the week of November 12th, 2012

In this week's update, we look at some of the stories we'll be covering in the Journal of Commerce for the week of November 12th, 2012.

Saskatchewan’s open-shop contractors and the Saskatchewan Building Trades Council are clashing over proposed labour legislation. Merit Saskatchewan says the construction industry is unique and should be exempt from current labour regulations, but the Building Trades Council says suggested changes to legislation are a “low road to growth.”

Richard Gilbert has a story about a $3 billion pipeline to transport crude oil and diluent between Fort McMurray and Edmonton. The pipeline will be built by TransCanada and Phoenix Energy Holdings Ltd., a subsidiary of state-owned Chinese firm PetroChina.

Correspondent Patricia Williams has an article about West Coast projects that have won 2012 Consulting Engineering Awards, and this week the Journal of Commerce is also featuring The Leaders 2012, our annual profile of Canada’s top general contractors.

Also, don’t miss our weekly feature about the CIPHEX plumbing and HVAC conference that was recently held in Vancouver.
