Tragic death near Lake Cowichan

A 52-year-old Duncan man was killed in a freak accident on Highway 18 near Lake Cowichan on Vancouver Island on November 7th.

Gregory Thomas Howlett, a site superintendent at Nanaimo-based West Coast Developments Limited, was killed after he was struck by a rock that fell from a logging truck and crashed through the window of his pickup.

The B.C. Coroner's Service, WorkSafeBC and the RCMP are investigating.
