VIDEO: The 2012 CIPHEX West plumbing and HVAC conference
The Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating recently held its CIPHEX West plumbing and heating conference at the Vancouver Convention Centre. With a show floor spanning much of the iconic building’s lower level, it’s clear that the sometimes invisible trade of plumbing is experiencing rapid growth.
Ralph Suppa, the president and general manager of CIPH, elaborated on both the many technical seminars that took place during the conference and illustrated several trends he has noticed in terms of new technologies and an increased emphasis in sustainability related to water use.
Elizabeth McCullough, who organized the conference, explained that the event showcases both the obvious products associated with plumbing such as toilets, faucets and other consumer objects and the invisible but equally important “ugly” plumbing working behind the scenes.
