VIDEO: Bridging the Gap 2012 safety conference in Richmond, British Columbia
WorkSafeBC held the annual Bridging the Gap safety conference in Richmond, British Columbia on November 24th , 2012.
Don Schouten of WorkSafeBC was able to take time out from the conference to speak to the Journal of Commerce about the goals of the event and the methodologies used to convey essential safety principles to a diverse group of professionals.
This year the conference concentrated on “soft” skills that help contribute to workplace safety/
Schouten also pointed out that over the years safety has gone from a requirement to an essential component of construction culture, and that he expects that trend to continue.
