Chair sought for Alberta Energy Regulator agency

The Alberta government is looking for a chair and an executive officer to head up its new Alberta Energy Regulator agency, which will regulate oil, gas, coal and oil sand development in the province.

The Alberta Energy Regulator will take on the responsibility for work currently done by the Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB) and by parts of Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development.

Once operational, the new agency will include nearly a thousand staff.
