CH2M HILL has won the Award of Excellence in the Natural Resources, Mining and Industry category from the Consulting Engineers of Alberta for their integrated closure, conservation and reclamation plan for Shell Canada Ltd.'s Jackpine Mine.

Shell Canada Ltd. hired CH2M HILL to design an integrated closure, conservation and reclamation plan for submission to the Alberta government which details the return of reclaimed mine uplands, wetlands and lakes to a maintenance-free, self-sustaining ecosystem with a capability equivalent to pre-development conditions.
