Discussing uses for micro and macro BIM
LA MALBAIE, QUE.
James M. Benham of JB Knowledge Technologies compared macro versus micro Building Information Modeling (BIM) at the Canadian Construction Association's (CCA) 95th annual conference.
“We can build a building from micro BIM,” he said. “Macro BIM is a really great tool people are starting to use for conceptual estimating.”
He pointed to D Profiler, a Macro BIM project modeling tool for conceptual estimating.
It creates a 3D model that can be put on Google Earth.
“That’s a pretty powerful sales tool,” he said.
Benham’s presentation, Cutting-edge technology in the B2B environment, is one of several presentations at the CCA conference in La Malbaie, Que.
