Gold Award of Excellence winners celebrated at gala
The Vancouver Regional Construction Association handed out Awards of Excellence at its 25th anniversary gala last week.
“The Gold Award winners are truly leaders in the industry and have delivered great examples of world class projects around the Province,” said Fiona Famulak, association president.
“The event began in 1989 with the recognition of a single general contractor before VRCA’s annual general meeting. The event grew in size and visibility over the years, adding categories and sponsors, as it became more and more successful, mirroring the growth of our province’s construction industry.”
The Journal of Commerce sponsored the first award handed out in 1989.
This year, 38 projects and 42 entries were considered.
Three Silver Award for Excellence winners were announced in most project categories with the Gold Award of Excellence being announced at the Oct. 17 awards gala at the Vancouver Convention Centre.
In addition to the Awards of Excellence for specific projects, awards were also presented to members and individuals for outstanding accomplishments and to recognize innovation and commitment to safety.
